Design exploration for toggling between Content Editor and editing source
Proposal
This issue explores the design approach for toggling Content Editor and editing source.
The context is in the Wiki.
Assumption
- Toggling between Content Editor and editing source is not the same as toggling between Markdown and Preview because this is changing the entire editing experience.
- Changing the layout of the existing wiki page is within the realm of possibilities.
- There needs to be a way for the user to navigate to the Content Editor from the raw source editor.
- There needs to be a way for the user to navigate to from the raw source editor to the Content Editor.
- Once there is parity between Content editor and the Classic editor then users would not need to toggle between modes often while editing a page.
Questions
- Should there be any prompts to guide the user between the editing modes?
- Should there be any prompts to inform the user of how to change the editing modes?
- Would we disable the ability to switch if the source format is not Markdown?
- Yes
