Cannot add updates from repository

Hello, i'm new here. I am learning on Java courses and we needed to connect to GitLab. I did it and downloaded my homework. Then, i sent it on prod branch instead of master branch and all my mirroring is broken now - i can commit and push on a project, but cannot see or get any updates from project. I asked my teacher but i think he is boried of me, he cannot help me properly.
