Explore improvements to artifacts syntax and documentation in GitLab CI
🧩 Problem
New CI users find the artifacts syntax and documentation confusing.
Further details
So it's hard to put myself fully back in the shoes of a new user, but even then I was, I was really struggling to figure out where the artifacts would come in. You probably saw me browsing the docs a lot, trying to be like, well, where are my artifacts? How do I know which path there are implicitly, I guess they kind of put back in the same relative path in your checkout directory
I couldn't find a part of the documentation that explained where consumed artifacts end up. So once I discovered the artifacts key word to define artifacts and the dependencies keywords, pull them back down, I was thinking right. But like, where are they? Right. Are they in like slash artifacts or something?
✨ Proposal
Investigate the problems with artifacts definition and docs further and explore improvements to make it easier to understand and define artifacts.
