CI/CD Pipeline Editor doesn't detect .gitlab-ci.yml file at the root of the repository
Summary
CI/CD Pipeline Editor doesn't detect .gitlab-ci.yml file at the root of the repository.
Steps to reproduce
- Go to a Git repository where a
.gitlab-ci.yml
file in master branch or any other branch exists in the root of the repository - Click on the menu path CI/CD > Editor or click on the
.gitlab-ci.yml
file and press the 'Pipeline Editor' button - In both cases you get this page/information displayed:
Optimize your workflow with CI/CD Pipelines
Create a new .gitlab-ci.yml file at the root of the repository to get started.
What is the current bug behavior?
The Pipeline Editor doesn't find the .gitlab-ci.yml
file at the root of the repository and thus suggests to create such a file.
What is the expected correct behavior?
The existing .gitlab-ci.yml
shall be opened/displayed in Pipeline Editor.

I can't provide the information about the logs without a concrete need due to me not being able to access the system/linux shell without asking our IT department for help.
GitLab itself reports no technical issues nor has any other bugs thus I suspect this is some kind of bug in this version. I'm using this feature for the first time so I'm unaware if this issue exists in other releases as well.
