Ability for User groups to Subscribe to Issue Labels
Problem to solve
Right now, any individual user can subscribe to a label to receive corresponding notifications. This ask is to extend that so that entire Groups can be subscribed to a single label which would ease the burden of administration but add an additional layer of complexity.
Intended users
- Parker (Product Manager)
- Delaney (Development Team Lead)
- Sasha (Software Developer)
- Rachel (Release Manager)
User experience goal
- Interest:
- Enterprise level with lots of resources moving in and out of roles / teams. Managing Groups is much easier than managing individuals to ensure the right groups get the right awareness (based off subscribing to labels) as opposed to making individuals figure out what they need to follow
- Current Solution:
- Everyone has to figure out how / what they need to do for their specific role - which is good from a learning perspective but bad from a consistency by group perspective ---
Oh, didn't know that label was there! and no one knows I transitioned to this team
- Everyone has to figure out how / what they need to do for their specific role - which is good from a learning perspective but bad from a consistency by group perspective ---
- Impact:
- Lots of extra time helping new resources figure out basics for their role around all the labels they may need to subscribe to
- individuals not being aware a particular label exists that might be important to their team
