Sub-group epics are not listed on epics group page

There are following epics in gitops-demo:

When a user goes to the top-level epic group page (https://gitlab.com/groups/gitops-demo/-/epics/), he should see also sub-group epics (gitops-demo/infra&1 (closed), gitops-demo/apps&1 (closed)) but these are not displayed for some reason for gitops-demo.

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce this neither locally nor on other group on gitlab.com.
