Remove Advanced Search migrations in GitLab 14.0 release
This issue is to create a release post item that warns customers that Advanced Search migrations that were added prior to 13.12 will be removed in GitLab 14.0 release.
Release Notes
Advanced Search migrations is a feature that helps users update their Elasticsearch index in the background when changes are introduced to the indexes in a new GitLab version. Since our Advanced Search migrations usually require us to support multiple code paths for a long period of time, it’s important to clean those up when we safely can. In the GitLab 14.0 release, we will remove all migrations that were added prior to GitLab 13.12 release. You have to upgrade your instance to GitLab 13.12 first before upgrading to the 14.0 release. Otherwise, you may have to recreate your Advanced Search index. You can find more information about the process of deleting migrations in our Elasticsearch development documentation
