Inconsistent initial line in merge request and issue creation emails
Due to !56064 (merged) being merged, there is now an inconsistency between the initial line in the merge request and issue creation emails.
The format of the issue creation email is:
Firstname Lastname created an issue #1385:
and originally for a merge request:
Firstname Lastname created a merge request:
Now the merge request has been changed to:
Firstname Lastname created a merge request:
This has done two things:
- the style is now different between the two emails: issue has the issue number linked, and the merge request has the words "merge request" linked. We should strive to have consistency in these messages. Also the text version of the merge request now differs in format from the html version (the issue version stays the same between the two).
- What lead me to create this issues, I use smart mailboxes that rely on being able to search for text in an email. Previously a search for "created a merge request:" would work. Now it no longer matches. In fact, even "created a merge request" doesn't work, I believe because it's wrapped in html.
I would like to recommend that we change the format to
Firstname Lastname created a merge request !1234:
to be more consistent
