Docs feedback: Inconsistent messaging about subscription expiration policy
Right now, there are 3 places that show information about what happens when subscriptions expire.
- https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/subscriptions/self_managed/#subscription-expiry
- https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/admin_area/license.html#what-happens-when-your-license-expires
Each of them say slightly different things and they don't seem to reflect our current policy:
In case your subscription expires, we wait 14 days before removing paid features. You will notice the changes on the 15th day. Additionally, you have 30 days from the date of expiration to renew your self-managed subscription, otherwise, on the 31st day, your renewal will be treated as a new purchase and you will need to re-enter all account information.
When expirations occur, GitLab displays a message to all administrators to inform them of the expired subscription.
The above policy comes via @amandarueda here: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/marketing/community-relations/community-operations/community-operations/-/issues/66#note_532882486
