[VSA] Show record count for the stage (BE)

This is the backend implementation issue. The frontend implementation issue is #321448 (closed).

Problem to solve

In group-level VSA, it is not obvious how many items are in each stage.

Proposal

Group-level VSA should display the record count for the stage. Probably using the 1001 approach.
