UI rebase available without first commit

If a branch is one or more commit behind its parent but don't have any commit the UI don't suggest to rebase it

UI users (periodically or not) that may not have access to CLI branch managemnet

Further details

A branch is created before a merge to its parent but an non CLI user needs it up to date. This proposed feature would allow him/her to keep his/her branch clean and on the same page as its parent. In the same way that simple rebase from UI currently helps.

Proposal

  • User create MR
  • Parent branch receive a commit from other MR
  • User goes to MR's UI page and sees a [rebase] button

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?

Branch can be rebased from parent using UI even when no commit has been added to child branch
