Problem to solve

Issues on boards should be sortable at the board level and not the instance level to allow for more flexibility in how boards are organized for different teams.

Intended users

Unknown, although I would assume that anyone maintaining a board would appreciate this feature.

Further details

I maintain several boards that other teams need to view as a chronological order of events for field marketing. We have an issue for each event or campaign that we run, and need our boards to be organized chronologically so sales and other teams can have a real time view of what is coming up in their region. Currently when I arrange my board in chronological order, it does not stay that way because issues are ordered at the instance level and not the board level.

Proposal

I would propose that issues could be sorted by due date, date opened, etc as a way to give users the option to pick a high level sort method AND/OR manual sorting that is not influenced by other users sorting issue elsewhere.

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
