Experiment: Disable CAPTCHA for % of traffic and track the effects
CAPTCHA that we use today is a very tedious way of establishing the humanity of the entity filling in the registration form.
It often spirals into multiple levels of solving the puzzles until it seems like it's impossible to solve.
This suggestion originally came from this issue but let's use this issue to implement the proposed and keep track of the effects it has.
Feedback from users:
Same here, I spend literally minutes until I can login. Yesterday, I have even been recognized as robot after some minutes (maybe to fast?) and couldn't login in at all. Very time consuming and frustrating!

I'm affected by this too. It's not uncommon to spend more than > 10 minutes to get through this – just to edit a minor thing in an issue!

Proposal
Disable CAPTCHA for 5% of traffic and keep track of spam that comes through the form. Compare the results to control and make a decision based on the difference.
