Proposal: Communication Links of OpenSource Messager Services in Profile

There are many messagers out there, and you can't keep up with all of them for sure, but to ensure digital sovereignty a messaging plattform should be at least open source (client and server).

At the moment a user can set E-Mail, Skype, LinkedIN and Twitter in their profile. With the Exception of E-Mail all of those services are closed-source services, open source services like ActivityPub/mastodon and matrix/element are underrepresented.

I would love to be able to set contacts for open source services in Settings/Main Settings to my profile, for example:

• Matrix,
• Signal
• XMPP/Jabber
• Feediverse/ActivityPub (Mastodon/Pleroma)

Alternatively those communication links could be implemented as a simple list which enables the user to define the type of the communication link in a free text field.
