Coverage-guided fuzz testing and OpenShift support
Problem to solve
Coverage-guided fuzz testing ran into issues when run on OpenShift. This is a problem for our users who use the OpenShift platform since they are blocked from using fuzz testing.
Proposal
The goal of this issue is to identify and resolve all issues related to OpenShift and running coverage-guided fuzz testing. The issue should be updated organically over time.
Once completed, update documentation as needed.
Known issues
- Error when running
wget
since not available in container image- Can't run
apt-get
since no root permissions. - Idea: Include a
check-env.sh
script that is run before the job starts to ensure dependencies are present. If they are not, produce a human-readable error string to guide users to what they need to do and point to our documentation. This would be a lot more easy for users to act on than a shell script that produces potentially obscure errors.
- Can't run
