Group Sync using SCIM for GitLab.com

Problem to solve

We implemented SAML group sync for GitLab.com which updates a user's groups based on a SAML assertion. It relies on a SAML interaction and changes are not reflected automatically.

Proposal

We can augment the functionality we have today by also using SCIM to update groups.
