On releases page commit hashes are not linked

When viewing a page /proj/releases if the release description contains commit SHAs they are rendered as plain text and not links to the commit. Example:

[1086e59a5] [XYZ-2785] Fix the foo to be more bar.

However when viewing the tag for that release at proj/tags/v2.0.0, the same text is show but 1086e59a5 is rendered as a link to the commit.

These two pages should render the same as they are created from the same description.
