Problem to solve

We're working on building the new Pipeline Editor for editing CI configuration. We need to surface the new feature to the existing GitLab users.

User experience goal

Proposal

Highlight the Pipeline Editor tab in the CI/CD navigation menu with a hotspot popover.

Here's an example of how the hotspot was used in the navigation to highlight the Boards feature when it was released.

The below design was adjusted to be more aligned with the current Pajamas popover component.

❗ We need to create a custom illustration for this, the illustration in the design is a placeholder.

Popover opens on hover

• Once dismissed, the hotspot popover shouldn't show up again.
