Docs feedback: Unclear advice for "Merge when pipeline succeeds"

In the Reviewing code section of the docs, there's this bullet point (Edit: Now at https://docs.gitlab.com/ce/development/code_review.html#merging-a-merge-request):

If you set the MR to “Merge When Pipeline Succeeds”, you should take over subsequent revisions for anything that would be spotted after that.

Bold emphasis is mine. I do not understand what it means. How do I "take over" subsequent revisions? Presumably subsequent revisions are commits, but subsequent to what? Spotted after what?
