Better visual grouping of swimlane rows to indicate they are related

Release notes

This is more visual polish than anything, so I am not sure it would warrant a release post item unless we want to highlight our continual improvement of swimlanes.

Problem to solve

• How might we better group a swimlane title with its corresponding work items?
• How might we better group swimlane work items together?

User feedback:

A Swimlane usually has a horizontal flow. This is a bit missing in the current design. I looks a bit more like individual cells in an Excel sheet. Would it be possible to connect the “cells” of one row a bit?

Users can better parse the swimlane and work item groupings.

Ideas:

• Reduce bottom space between a swimlane title and the columns of work items
• Add some visual treatment around each swimlane or columns of work items to better correlate them as a row as well.
