Kubernetes CI/CD without Auto DevOps Documentation

I don't want to use Auto DevOps. But the only documentation I can find about using Kubernetes with GitLab CI/CD (IE: Actually deploying my project to a k8s cluster) involves Auto DevOps. This is disappointing.
