Multi-Project Pipeline Graph collapses stages if a downstream is present

When creating multi-project pipeline graphs, it seems that the addition of a downstream project collapses the stages of the actual project.

Create a pipeline for a project that is triggering a downstream.

Stages for the current project are drawn with incorrect spacing between them
What is the expected correct behavior?
Stages are separated correctly.
