First comment randomly disappears on older issues.

Twice today when loading issues, I've noticed that the first comment is visible briefly but then suddenly disappears as the full page is loaded. A refresh fixes it.

Steps to reproduce

the described problem happens non-deterministically on older issues (4~5 yrs). We're still identifying the root cause.
