Make it more difficult to @ mention everyone in a group
Description
Today I accidentally mentioned everyone in a group. This is more than 500 people. How did it happen:
- I wanted to mention @Alexand and I started with writing
@a
. -
@ all
was the first suggestion in the drop-down that appeared. - Without paying too much attention I kept typing and then I hit CTRL + Enter.
- A new issue got created, it took around 15-20 seconds to create it.
## Proposal
- Remove
@ all
from suggestion, definitely do not put it at the beginning of a list. - Do not allow to submit an issue with CTRL + Enter when there is
@ all
used. - Show a modal / confirmation dialog that will ask you to explicitly confirm the intent to mention everyone in a group.
Thoughts @victorwu @smcgivern ?
Solution
We currently show verbiage in Preview tab when commenting for new or threaded conversations if someone @ mentions all
. We will copy that verbiage over to the Write tab and have it show once the person hits "Enter" after typing in the mention.
