Making it easier to explore projects on gitlab
Problem to solve
Gitlab is alot more than a repo hosting site. I think gitlab has a huge community and I want to explore it, but the projects on gitlab aren't quite exposed. What I mean is, I don't generally tend to search for projects on gitlab - as I would do on github. I think the reason for this is the lack of focus on gitlab as a community.
Target audience
The target audience is anyone looking to use gitlab as a platform to follow their favorite projects, interact with other gitlab users as a community and provide better exposure to their projects.
Proposal
I would like to propose an "activity feed" on the home page of every user. So when I log in to gitlab, I can see the latest commits, issues etc. made to the repositories I am following. I feel like this would help turn gitlab into a community and provide better exposure to the projects.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
Success would be to implement something like the github home page for gitlab.
