Make untranslated strings more visible to developers by default

What

Display untranslated strings differently from those which use _(...) style helpers to allow them to be translated. Perhaps by using homoglyphs or with CSS styling.

Why

With most of us using the dev environment in English it is too easy not to notice untranslated strings. Making the difference visible would encourage us to update them.
