Search API filters documentation is unclear
Add one of the examples from the comments to the Search API page.
I'm trying to search a repository for files ending in a certain extension, and the documentation for blob scope searches mentions (https://docs.gitlab.com/ce/api/search.html#scope-blobs)
Filters are available for this scope: - filename - path - extension to use a filter simply include it in your query like so:
a query filename:some_name*
. You may use wildcards (*) to use glob matching.
But the subsequent example doesn't show any of that:
curl --request GET --header "PRIVATE-TOKEN: 9koXpg98eAheJpvBs5tK" https://gitlab.example.com/api/v4/projects/6/search?scope=blobs&search=installation
There isn't enough context in "a query filename:some_name*
" for me to tell which of those are maybe placeholders ("a query"?) and where, in an actual query string, I would put 'filename', 'path', or 'extension'. Nowhere else in the document mentions "filters" either, so if there's a convention for using them it's not discoverable.
