Improve hierarchy of threads, top-level comments, and replies

Replies in threads with the new boxed layout can be hard to distinguish from top-level comments.

Proposal
Consider better information hierarchy separating replies in threads by for example indenting. To give an example:
Slack does this as well, although doesn't allow inline expanding of threads.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
It is easy at any step (Even if an issue/MR/epuc has many normal comments and replies) to discern which kind of comments are which.
