Ability to see all subscriptions in your profile in GitLab.com
Problem to solve
If I'm a member of a group with a paid license, there's no way to tell what tier the group is on. Only group owners have this ability, and this information is only exposed in the group settings.
TL;DR: I should be able to have a quick answer to the question "What tier do I have?"
User experience goal
Users that browse the docs/marketing sites and see features that are in a paid plan, they will be able to know if their group supports them.
Proposal
Expose all the paid groups a user is member of in their profile. Currently, you're able to see any subscriptions in your billing profile that are under your own namespace https://gitlab.com/profile/billings.
It would be nice to also show information about the groups that are in a paid subscription and you're a member of. Not sure if it should be under the billing page, but that's a good place to start.
Permissions and Security
Documentation
The subscriptions page should be updated https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/subscriptions/.
Availability & Testing
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
- Less support questions
- Better understanding of the tier model and the respective features by the users
What is the type of buyer?
This should apply to Starter and up tiers.
Is this a cross-stage feature?
Not sure.
