Image rendering for Markdown fails for images with filename containing a colon

Does an image filename like "screenshot-2018-10-08-19:31:36.png" cause problems to gitlab's Markdown renderer? I have a README.md file which references in standard Markdown style images named like the once above. See https://gitlab.com/NikosAlexandris/tygrass. These images are not visible in the repository's (README.md) main page.
