Disable / Suppress GitLab sending Emails

Problem to solve
We send our own personalized emails to persons we add or invite to a project. Our email explains what the project is for and so on. That the person that is added / invited also receives spam email from GitLab that comes without any context what so every is very dubious.
Further details
We would like to suppress any emails send out by GitLab for a given project. Any action (adding a member, inviting a member, changing the role, ....) should not result in a email.
Proposal
There should be a project option to disable emails. This option should be available / set able via API.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
If we add a member to the project or change the role this member should not receive any email from GitLab.
