Separate text field for time estimate

Entering the time estimate is done at the moment by entering “/estimate 5d 3h” in the comment text field.

Proposal
It would make time management easier being able to edit the time in the sidebar with an „Edit“ button.
The field for entering the time estimate should then appear in the sidebar. The time will be entered without “/estimate”, only by entering the time, for example 3h 30m or 3.5d.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
