Gitlab (the company) should take over the maintenance of the Gitlab Terraform provider

Hashicorp is about to release Terraform v0.13. One of the biggest new features is that anyone can start releasing providers on the Terraform Registry. This means that all the providers no longer need to be in the existing Github organization.

Hashicorp is actively reaching out to all companies which have a product which can be managed by a corresponding Terraform provider. Gitlab is one of these products/providers. Current TF provider codebase is here:

I think it is time that Gitlab allocates time of 1 or 2 of their engineers and take over the maintenance of this provider. Please ask around internally who has been approached by Hashicorp regarding this TF provider and accept the offer.
