'Add Issues' Button - Indicates the ability to create issue, which is not a current functionality.

Problem to solve

I often find myself clicking on the 'Add Issues' button when in the board view, because I think I have the ability to create a new issue from that button. I always have to click out, and then pick a column to add an issue to.

Further details

For users like myself who are primarily in the board view, I find that when a new issue needs to be created, I am thinking less about what list it goes on because I am expecting my tagging when creating an issue to add it accordingly.

I would like the ability to click a button in the 'Add Issues' location and be able to create a new issue.

(Include use cases, benefits, and/or goals)

  • Less clicks

  • Easier flow when creating an issue

  • Enhance my workflow with less disruption (caused by clicking on a button that cannot completed current task)

Proposal

Change name of the 'Add Issues' Button to be something else like 'Add to Board'. Or create a new button where you could add an issue to the board, from that header section.

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?

I would like to see myself clicking on the wrong button in board view to create an issue, less. I would like to be able to create a new issue from the header in board view.

(If no way to measure success, link to an issue that will implement a way to measure this)
