GitLab True Up Subpanel of Admin License Section

  • There should be a true-up subpanel within the "License" admin section that shows what GitLab actually expects the true-up number to be with some supporting data, so no discrepancy is encountered between what GitLab thinks under the hood and the newly obtained license.
  • The current user information in the admin panel is inadequate for use by GitLab sales for self-hosted instance license true-ups because the number of users will have changed between the license cut-off date and the time of the true-up since users can be added at any time every day. The data in this new subpanel would help GitLab sales to avoid counting people added after the license cut-off date.
  • This true-up subpanel would be used by GitLab sales as the requested screenshot vs the current number of users (which is what sales does presently for self-hosted instances).
  • Even if everything with licensing were converted to being fully automated, GitLab admins should still be able to see the true-up data for both forecasting and verification purposes.
