Allow users to edit and manage an existing epic board

Problem to solve

When facilitating planning at scale across many teams or groups within my organization, I want a high level view of how my epics are moving through a workflow, so that I can track and report on the progress of features and initiatives.

How might we allow users to edit a board they have already created?

User experience goal

A user can craft a smartly titled board that is scoped in a way that allows them to focus on only the epics they care about.

Proposal

For MVC, we can stay consistent with the current experience within Issue Boards.

Editing a board

  • Clicking Edit board triggers a edit board modal consistent with the issue board experience.
  • Users can:
    • Name their board
    • Hide labels from the board
    • Hide the open list
    • Hide the closed list
    • Config label filtering for the board

Availability & Testing

What does success look like, and how can we measure that?

We should measure how often users are hiding lists and labels, as well as scope their boards, so that we may give better defaults in the future.
