Large amount of page load time unaccounted for in search results

I noticed a lot lately that loading the search results page seems to take a long time but then the performance bar is indicating that the Elasticsearch and Postgres queries are quite quick compartively.

Here is an example search:

It shows that the total page load time is 8s but the ES and PG parts are less than 2s combined. So where is this delay coming from?

It does also show that there are 292 PG queries which may be why it's slow but the PG time total is low so maybe that's wrong.
