Exposing single resources by id in GraphQL

After discussing in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/merge_requests/19853#note_81595410: We decided that when fetching merge requests using a project path and IID, it makes more sense to nest this within the GraphQL ProjectType.

Should we also expose single resources by ID? I haven't found another implementation of that.
