blank lines in job log are not visible in web viewer

2023-02-08 Update

At this time we are choosing not to fix/change this behavior in the logs. We expect some users want the condensed view and some want the spaced view. We fully embrace convention over configuration to reduce complexity in the setup and UI. Given other limitations/enhancement requests of the current job view (1, 2) the best current workaround is to view the raw log.

Summary

Blank lines in job output are not shown when viewing the log in the web log viewer, making logs hard to read as whitespace added for readability is not there.
