polyfill async functions

I spoke with @mikegreiling and it seems we're pretty close to being able to use async functions. We just need to install and import a polyfill.

The issue is, this includes the regenerator runtime, so this needs to be properly evaluated for impact seeing as its additional code that we need to ship to have access to async/await.

Would be nice to get it scheduled so we can at least have a decision on that for now and the near future? /cc @timzallmann
