Pre-select search filters and options
Problem to solve
As a user of the issue search, I want to filter by author (as an example) as quickly as possible, in the fewest keystrokes as possible.
Intended users
These people would benefit:
- Cameron (Compliance Manager)
- Parker (Product Manager)
- Delaney (Development Team Lead)
- Presley (Product Designer)
- Sasha (Software Developer)
- Devon (DevOps Engineer)
- Sam (Security Analyst)
- Rachel (Release Manager)
- Simone (Software Engineer in Test)
User experience goal
The user should perform a filtered search as fast as possible.
For example, after typing 'author' in the search box, the user has to use the arrow keys (or the mouse) to select the option from the dropdown menu and then click enter.
The use of the arrow keys (or mouse) could be avoided if the first option (the best match) in the dropdown menu was already highlighted (pre-selected).
