Project display name restriction is too strict

I don't understand why is gitlab project name restricted. It's used just for display purposes, not path building. for path there's another field.

The form contains the following error:

• Name can contain only letters, digits, emojis, '_', '.', dash, space. It must start with letter, digit, emoji or '_'.
