Installing Elastic Stack from Managed Apps causes GitLab Runner to fail
A self-managed customer decided to use all GitLab Managed Apps in their K8s cluster. They are using GitLab Runner in the cluster (through Managed Apps) with about 100 nodes. That works fine. But when they install Elastic Stack as a Managed App, the CI jobs immediately begin to fail with the message:
This job failed because the necessary resources were not successfully created
The customer filed a ZenDesk ticket and has spoken with @tkuah about their issue. At this point they're abandoning Managed Apps and going back to running Helm charts themselves, which is disappointing.
Some related information:
- Customer record in SFDC
- ZenDesk ticket (possibly related)
- Another issue (possibly related)
- Notes on dialog with customer (internal only)
I'm going to label this for the Configure group because it seems to have something to do with the interaction between Managed Apps under certain circumstances.
