Automatic issues closing with commit messages doesn’t notify related issues

With the introduction of : https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/390 we now allow to close issues using commit messages.

This works well inside the merge request, it updates the merge request widget displaying the mentioned issues will be closed, but it doesn’t trigger the notification of the mentioned issues as when you add Closes #XXX to the merge request description.
