Give users the ability to contribute monetarily to Open Source projects they love

Overheard at JSConf Iceland. Sarah Drasner asked Github to give users the ability to contribute money to their favorite OS projects. I think this is a great idea that we should consider. Projects can add a link to donate on their README but this is not a prominent area and could be overlooked. We can do better.
