Any way to disable API rate limit?

I've noticed that in more recent versions of Gitlab a rate limit has been applied to API calls by default. I did some searching around the docs and wasn't able to find a param to disable this. The problem with the rate limit is that it makes tools like renovate more time consuming to use.
