Vulnerability Management: Day 1 experience

Background

With the release of Standalone Vulnerabilities MVC we have concerns that users will not immediately understand all of the changes and new functionality, we've implemented as well as how the data/vulnerabilities will be handled. We believe some level of messaging is required to inform users of our new direction.

Problem

How might we inform users about all the new changes introduced with the release of the MVC for first-class vulnerabilities?

Proposal

  • Raise awareness in the UI for the changes both in the UX and in the data for Vulnerability Management
  • Link users to docs when/where appropriate
  • ... more tbd

Headline: Introducing standalone vulnerabilities

Copy: Each vulnerability now has a unique page that can be directly linked to, shared, referenced, and tracked as the single source of truth. Vulnerability occurrences also persist across scanner runs, which improves tracking and visibility and reduces duplicates between scans. Learn more in the vulnerability management documentation.
