Merge requests automatically closed without noticed when you delete your fork

My personal GitLab fork got diverged by mistake, I was unable to revert it back so I wanted to delete and fork again.

There is a warning message saying it will remove merge requests and a confirmation but there is no check that actually tells you , you have X number of open merge requests that will be closed if you confirm.
