Script that converts dashboards from Grafana to GitLab
Problem to solve
The work we are doing for Q1 OKR involved a manual migration of dashboards from Grafana to GitLab, this effort is valuable as we expose large amounts of gaps, however, this does not scale as at the end of the day we would like to migrate a large amount of dashboards.
Proposal
Based on the discussions we had with @andrewn and @jarv we want to explore the possibility to build a script that will help us migrate the Grafana dashboards to GitLab .yml file (custom dashboards).
Some resources to use:
- Infra team is using a Jsonnet which generate Grafana dashboards
- Discussion with @andrewn around this possibility (Min 19:00)

Additional details
It is likely that not all dashboards and features within Grafana dashboards will be supported in GitLab until we will close our gaps
