Document "simple" steps to start installing GitLab, from making a VM onwards

Based on my own experience setting up GitLab Geo, where I found myself learning very basic stuff, I'd like to have a page in the handbook that can be referred to that explains:

• how to create a VM on a cloud provider, with what typical settings and what considerations there are (I used VMs and omnibus, expansions would include similar basic steps for other installation methods and a brief explanation of their relative merits and problems).
• how to get a domain, and connect it to the IPs of the VMs
• how to access the VMs from the command line
